But the bible says that we need to look further for the real truth about faith and works . When we see people who are religious people assume they are good also . But what the bible says about works ?
The bible says there is a group of those of faith, there is the group of those of works . We are not talking Christianity only here or religious people. Everybody on earth is either a faith person or a works person . Is there a curse to those who think they are saved by works ? This is a very important question as the bible teaches very different than today society is teaching . Does God curse legalism people in the bible ? If we love the truth and Jesus , then we will follow the truth .
The truth is found in Jesus and unless we follow Jesus we fall into darkness from the truth . Let us find out if those who are saved by work are cursed . DEUT 27 10 10 'Thou shalt therefore obey the voice of the Lord thy God, and do his commandments and his statutes, which I command thee this day. 26 Cursed be he that confirmeth not all the words of this law to do them. And all the people shall say, Amen.' In this verse we find out that the people themselves said we will follow everything that is written in the law .
They did not know their hearts and i think God allowed them to say such a thing to find out nobody of the people of Israel did follow the things written in the law . Are those who are saved by works cursed ?Then the bible says that they were cursed as someone who says i am saved by works also , is bound by God to follow every detail of the old testament . If that person fails they become cursed . Is it an important topic ? It is the most important topic in the bible . Someone who is of works is not converted . Is there a curse to those who think they are saved by works ?
Let us understand that no one then was saved by works .Let us see the detail of , it is the people of Israel who said Amen we will do all that is written in the law . God never saved people by works , neither in the old testament nor in the new testament . People were saved by faith in the old testament too . Faith in the coming Messiah . In searching , does God curse legalist people in the bible ? We find that then people were saved by faith that one day Jesus would come . Cain was rejected because he did not have faith i the sacrifice of Jesus and offered his own offering . GA 3 6 11 6 'Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. 7
Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. 8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.'Here we see that one group Paul calls they which are of faith . Compared to those who are of works . Those who believe in God and ask God to give them by faith only his own righteousness are those of faith . Are those who are saved by works cursed ?
Yes as those who think they can save themselves by doing things are required by the la to keep without any fault all the law . In fact them make themselves the substitute sacrifice for the cross of Jesus . Thus they cannot sin in anything and need to obey without fault all the laws of the bible . Is there a curse to those who think they are saved by works ? Well yes because the bible says there is none good not one . All are turned away . '9
So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.' The blessing comes to those who are of faith . The curse is upon those who are of works . Cursed because no one has obeyed the law perfectly . Curse because they think they are good people , when the bible says there is none good, not one . 10 'For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written,
Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.' Thus he who believe they are saved by works are not just cursed, they are under a curse. It is a continual curse that is hanging over their head in case they fail to keep the whole law . Is there a curse to those who think they are saved by works ? Yes as they need constantly to keep by their own power the law of God without fault . Does God curse legalism people in the bible ?
The legalists are cursed as their pride makes themselves think they are good people . They have no just regad to the holiness of God , and no understanding of the sinfulness of sin . 11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.' No one is justified by the law, so it means all who are of works are UNJUSTIFIED . If one person is not justified they are not converted and they are seen unjust and wicked in the eyes of God . Are those who are saved by works cursed ? Then the verse says that the just lives by faith . If we live by faith, then what does it mean ? It means we do not live by works . By what do people of works live by ?
They live their religious lives by works . Is there a curse to those who think they are saved by works ? So a terrible curse is upon those who are of works as deep down they think they can improve on the cross of Jesus . They do not understand that if they could save themselves by works, there would have been no need for the cross of Jesus . People either live by faith or live by works . On which side are you ?DEUT 28 1
'And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: 2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.'This is a wonderful chapter where God shows the blessings to those who obey his law. People have assumed that they have to to the obedience part. But we cannot obey in our own strength . God does the works, God does the obedience, God makes us willing , God loves others through us .
Are those who are saved by works cursed ? All those blessings will overtake us when we are of those of faith. As when God does the works rather than us doing the works , then those works are blessed . PS 119 21 'Thou hast rebuked the proud that are cursed, which do err from thy commandments.' The reason why often people are those of works, is because of pride. They do not want to see themselves as sinners. They want to show they are good and no few people want to know that they are totally worthless when it comes to being a good person .
Does God curse legalism people in the bible ?Yes as it related to pride , and this was the sin that caused all the suffering on earth and death, disease, separation, all those was caused by pride. Pride does not want to acknowledge that they are wrong . They do not want to see they are bad, thus there is no remedy for the proud person . Are those who are saved by works cursed ? So a curse is place don those who refuse to humble themselves to acknowledge that they are evil and none is good . 1 PE 1 9 'Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls. ' Does the bible here says receiving the end of your work ? No notice end means the accomplishment, the goal .
Like when it says the end of the la, it does not mean the law is ended. It means that the fulfillment of the law the end goal . When it says JA 5 11 'You have heard of the patience of Job and have seen the end of the Lord, that the Lord is very pitiful and of tender mercy.' It does not mean Jesus has an end , it means the end goal Does God curse legalist people in the bible ? The end goal of your faith is salvation . The end goal of doing works to be saved is not salvation . Did the Pharisee did many works yes . Will it save them ? No they will end up destroyed in hell .
Through faith God does the works through us . We do not do the works . RO 7 23 'But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. 24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?' Sin is in our members and we cannot eliminate it . It will be there until we die . RO 8 2 'For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.'
Ellen g White says there will never be a time when we can say I have arrived . Also she says We will often have to come to the cross for repentence . It doe snot mean we cannot overcome sin. In fact unless we overcome we cannot enter heaven . But it is all by faith, by Gods power and not our own power . HE 8 10 'For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: ' Instead of the 10 commamdnemts being done away with, God writes them in our hearts now . Nothing about the ten commandments being done away . Grace is exactly given because we cannot keep the law . God in his kindness gives us his righteousness . RO 3 19 'Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. 20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.'
No one will be saved by salvation by works . Unless we become guilty before God and see our sinfulness , we will continue to be of those of works and be cursed . 21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; 22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for
there is no difference: 23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God' The righteousness of God is without the law. Without the works . Righteousness is by faith . Not of works . GA 4 21 'Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law? 22 For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman. 23 But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise.'Those of works desire to be under the law.
As keeping requirements makes one feel good about themselves. When they go to sleep at night , they feel good, they keeps human requirements ordinances, and statutes which are not blessed by God . Are those who are saved by works cursed ? There is a curse on those who refuse to humble their proud hearts to see their own sinfulness . Most legalists and those of works will say i am saved by faith .
Yet they do not understand that it is by faith alone . The glory i to God . The right doing , God alone can do it . 'Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar. 25 For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children. 26 But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all. ' Bondage or slavery to those who think they are saved by works . No freedom as they need to continually work and do thing to appease their own minds . As really they are not appeasing God in anything in fact they are cursed as they tell God look i am good enough . So God says well keep the whole law. And if you don't you receive a curse . This is bondage and slavery . RO 3 23 'For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: '
Unless we see that we all are sinners and cannot do goood and even our best work are dirty rags there is no hope to become converted . Most Christians are not converted . GA 2 16 'Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. '
There is no justification in works of the law. There is justification . Are those who are saved by works cursed ? Yes as God sees all those who are of works as unrighteousness and unjustified . An unjust person is an evil person . 17 But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid. 18 For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor. 19 For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.' I am dead to keeping the law and doing works. As by faith God does all works through me when i ask him every morning . And God kindly gives me his righteousness . Then i am dead to the law. Even as the law is still binding i am no longer responsible for the good works as by faith God does the works . RO 3 20 'Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. 21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; ' Is there sin ? Yes then the law is still there as without law there is no sin . Nobody can keep the law without God . No one by their own works is made just by works . RO 6 11 'Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. ' I a dead to sin because God keeps the law and does the works through me . It does not mean i do not sin . We always fall and sin often . But it is a peace and relaxation message knowing that God is the one doing the works . GA 3 '2 This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? 3 Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? 4 Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain. 5 He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? 'Are those who are saved by works cursed ? Yes as Paul calls those who are of work in the flesh . Did you know that those who think they are saved by works are in the flesh ? They try in their own flesh , their own self to keep the law and obey God . Is there a curse to those who think they are saved by works ? It is a curse, a bondage and slavery . Become free in Jesus righteousness Father God please forgive our sins, give us your righteousness. Provide for all our needs, give us the desires of our hearts.
