To have a different personality and to be original is very good . But to have serious defects of character will not have us enter heaven . Did you know when Jesus returns , he will not remove our defects of character and sins ? Like pride, selfihsness, rude, unkind, apathy, lying . The bible teaches that when Jesus will return he will only give us new body . An immortal body against a mortal body . Now is the time, until you die to remove your sins and defects by Jeuss grace .

1 CO 15 53 ' For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality ' John was an angry men . Possiblly he was judgmental and ready to pass condemnation for no reason . Like the pahrisee, legalists are usuallly fast to condemn and think they have no fault .

LK 9 52 And sent messengers before his face: and they went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for him. 53 And they did not receive him, because his face was as though he would go to Jerusalem. 54 And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did? 55 But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of. '56 For the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them. And they went to another village. '

John in this case wanted the whole city destroyed , because they refused to lodge Jesus . God knows that for people to be condemn , they have to refuse the truth repeatedly .

To become converted is to know that no human being is good . The best works of human beings cannot atain to salvation , or help to go to heaven . Jesus works in me , but my works are worthless . All these bible characters who had serious defects of character overcame by the righteousness of Jesus . They were transformed .

Human beings are unrighteouss . Unable to do good . Jesus only has righteousness. What is righteousness ? Right doing . But to most people someone who does not lie, keeps the sabbath ect seems to be a good person . But God knows that our best works are tainted by selfishness, greed, spiritual pride and all kinds of wickedness . This is why our best works are worthless .

Sadly also most people are so proud, they will not want to recognize that they are totally wicked . Even the mixing of our own efforts with Jesus righteousness is legalism and being in a lost condition . Most christians will say , I believe in Jesus grace only . Then they will say, my own efforts and works . This is mixing truth and error . Such christians are still in a lost condition . If we are saved by works also then , we cannot be saved by grace .

RO 11 6 ' And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work. ' If I could save myself by my works , why would I need Jesus ? Why did Jesus die on the cross if any human being can attain to heaven by what they do ?

JA 2 24 ' Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. ' One day I was in a church and an elder quoted this verse . 1 Recognize we are wicked unable to obey 2 AskJesus to give us his righteousness . As we do not have any rightouensess, the only way we can do right is through him who has righteousness . As an amazing gift , filled with love and kindness, Jesus gives us his righteousenss freely .

This has been the most beautiful message of Jesus in my life . I was a legalist a long time ? Then Jesus showed me this topic. My christianity has become so happy and peaceful since then . No more worrying all the time if I am doing the right thing . No worry of how much I need to do . Today I do no efforts whatsoever to do anything But every morning I ask Jesus do give me his righteousness . Jesus obeys through me , Jesus overcomes sin through me . None of my efforts . This is why it is called righteousness by faith .
