Galatians chapter 3 summary

This is a very important chapter as it talks about righteousness by faith . This is the most important topic in the bible . As many people claim to know Jesus, Many people claim to be Christians yet they still try to gain heaven with their works . In Galatians chapter 3 summary it says that some and many Christians still believe that their works will gain them an entrance in heaven .

Many non Christians are also legalists, they think that following rules can have someone go to heaven . Galatians chapter 3 summary it says we need to obey Gods law. But we cannot obey the 10 commandments unless God gives us power. What is this power called ? Who gives this power ? Where can i get this power for myself ? Let us find out

GA 3 1 O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?

Keeping the law to be saved and believing that one is saved by works is so strong in Paul s language who was led and inspired by the Holy Spirit to write the book of Galatians that Paul says someone who is a Christian but is trying to be saved by works is disobedient to the truth . They can obey all the rules of the bible, yet if they deeply believe that their works is enough for salvation, they are totally disobedient to the truth and the bible .

We see here that the most important topic for the which we can only give a little here is righteousness by faith . In Galatians chapter 3 summary it says that Jesus was evidently crucified . When someone tries to be be saved by works, they deny the cross of Jesus . As if someone's works would be enough, then there would be no need of Jesus dying on the cross. The death of Jesus on the cross is absolute proof that we cannot be saved by works. If it was so, then Jesus would not have needed to die on the cross. Because we cannot save ourselves, and really our works are just for the intent that we love Jesus . Then we cannot bring works to receive salvation.

GA 3 2 This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

Can the Holy Spirit be given by working ? No It is a little an abomination that one thinks that by working they gain salvation and receive the Holy Spirit . The pagans used to believe that, and we see many Christians still believe in paganism teachings. How offensive to God to think that our works gain an entrance to heaven, when our works are done with the intention to love Jesus .

In Galatians chapter 3 summary it says that the intention is everything . Do you do works to be saved, or because you are already saved and you want to show Jesus you love Him ? Even there we see that God does the works through us .

GA 3 3 Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?

Some Christians in Galatia heard the preaching by faith .

But sometimes in churches we have preachers that preach works to be saved . And after listening to those sermons over and over and start to believe this false message and the church is corrupted with legalism .

People who still believe there is something good in human beings will rely on the flesh as Paul says . The flesh is much about thinking one to be good and being proud . As this salvation by works message is preached in many churches, what happens is that many that are not settled in the truth of righteousness by faith become legalists and the church is corrupted.

GA 4 4 Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain.

GA 3 5 He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

Legalism thinks so highly of men that one can believe that they can do miracles without God .

That men has enough power to save himself and do miracles. Some people believe both at the same time which is still a false gospel . Some say we are saved by faith, yet believe they have to do one part themselves. We are saved by faith without the works of the law. The works, loving God and others are done because and with the intention of loving God and others.

GA 3 6 Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.

Abraham was received by God because he believed that he was saved by faith . And God accepted his faith before Abraham went out of his country to where God told him to go . Faith will have works, but the works are done by God and automatic once we receive this power called righteousness by faith .

As we do not have any righteousness in ourselves. This is where we need to realize that only God is righteousness . Unless we realize this, we will not receive righteousness from God . As while we still cling to our works and our own righteousness, then we cannot receive Gods righteousness. We need first to realize our own nothingness. Then we need to ask God everyday to give us his righteousness.

GA 3 7 Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.

We see here that the bible says in Galatians chapter 3 summary, that one part of the church is of faith, one part of the church is of the works. Can the works side of the church go to heaven ? No the bible says that we cannot save ourselves. Only trusting in the merits of Jesus can we be saved. As our works are polluted and unworthy .

But can a Christian who believes in Jesus yet says they are saved by works go to heaven ? No as they trusted in themselves and not in God . They thought their works would bring salvation and as long as they did the good works they would be saved. No this is a deception . Who we are is much more important that what we do . Who we are is what will make it to heaven . Our love, kindness ; forgiveness, humility, sincerity, loyalty . This will enter heaven . A wicked pperson can do good works, yet his character can be marred with many flaws.

GA 3 8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.

All people from all nations will be saved that are of faith . I also believe that all people who are lead by the Holy Spirit will make it to heaven , who follow that still small voice, saying this is the way walk you in it . All those who do things for God and others without asking anything in return are from God .

GA 3 9 So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.

There is a blessing in this life for those who give God all the glory ans know that only God has the power to give righteousness by faith . They work are made in Gods power for love of others and God . Their works are not tainted with selfishness to expect something in return, or expect salvation in exchange for their works .

GA 3 10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.

GA 3 11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.

No one is justified by the works of the law. Those who think they are saved by works, will need to follow all the requirements the law has without any fault. This is the curse, God requires those who want to be saved by faith to continue in all the things of the law.

The which is impossible. For that reason God shows us the way our, his righteousness .

GA 3 12 And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.

The law points us to sin, faith shows us the way to get power from sin . Righteousness by faith .

GA 3 13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

We do not need to die on the cross and suffer like Jesus . He took our sins upon Him so that we could be free from the curse of the law. As the bible says the wages of sin is death .

GA 3 14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

We now can all come to Jesus as we are . Also forgiveness and ask for his power in our lives to transform and do his will. His righteousness.

GA 3 15 Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man's covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto.

GA 3 16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

All Christians are spiritual Jews. They are the children of Abraham who had faith and believed in God . And God accepted Abraham s faith without the works .

GA 3 17 And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.

The law cannot be done away with. As sin and life shall exist on earth, then sin will exist because the law of God will be binding to all humans .

GA 3 18 For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise.

God made a way out of the condemnation of the law which is death. The law cannot save it pony tells us what sin is .

GA 3 19 Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.

People in the old testament were saved by faith, the same as today . We are saved by faith too. In Old testament times people were saved by faith in Jesus who would come . Today Jesus came and we can ask forgiveness for his loving sacrifice on the cross.

GA 3 20 Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one.

As one men sinned, then one men Jesus who is also God spayed the price for all human beings. This sacrifice is enough . Our works cannot add to this sacrifice. Our works show gratefulness for Jesus and his great love with the which He loved us .

GA 3 21 Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law.

The law cannot save. The law only tells us what wrong and right is . Paul says unless i had read in the law You shall not covet, Paul would not have known what sin is.

GA 3 22 But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.

This finished the argument for works As here the bible says that we are al sinners and we are all concluded under sin.

GA 3 23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.

This does not mean that old testament people were saved by works. But the sacrifice of Jesus was not completed and they had to show their faith in Jesus by slaying an animal each time their sinned.

GA 3 24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. GA 3 25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

Here it does not say that there is no more law. It says that we are not under the schoolmaster. This is the same saying of we are not under the law. Not under the law means we do not have to do sacrifices to show our faith in Jesus . We are not under this rule any more.

GA 3 26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

GA 3 27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

Our faith is shown in baptism, when our old sins are done away and Jesus gives us a new life. Yet many go into baptism without understanding this very important topic and they come out the baptism pool still believing in their works for salvation.

GA 3 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

Everyone that believes in Jesus will be saved. From whatever country they come from . There is no racism in Jesus as all nations are in fact one nation, one earth that God has created.

GA 3 29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Al Christians are spiritual Jews, children of the father of faith, who believed what God told him and was accepted before Abraham ventured in his journey. Jesus really loves you what would keep you from accepting Jesus in your heart now ? Repeat Father God please forgive my sins, come in my heart, give me your righteousness. Heal and bless me please in the name of Jesus amen
